Our Mission
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
Kiwanis and its youth-oriented Service Leadership Programs serve communities in more than 80 countries and geographic areas.
Our History
FOUNDED IN 1915 IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN, KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL NOW COMPRISES 600,000 MEMBERS – MEN, WOMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS – WORLDWIDE
Kiwanis is looking out for kids in every corner of the globe with more than 600,000 volunteers who serve their communities through local clubs. Local clubs look out for our communities and the international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting disease and poverty. Through these efforts, Kiwanis International truly is “Serving the Children of the World.”
Kiwanis also plays a special role in developing future generations of leaders. K-Kids clubs at the elementary school level, Builders Clubs in middle school and junior highs, Key Clubs in high schools, and Circle K clubs at the collegiate level all are Kiwanis organizations that teach community service and leadership skills to young people. In addition, Aktion Clubs are made up of adults with mental and physical disabilities who enthusiastically perform service to help others.

We are passionate about making a difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do. But how we do it is just as important. We believe our neighborhoods and our world are best served when people of all ages and different backgrounds work together to share their time and talents. Join us and experience the fun, teamwork and personal satisfaction in helping others.
Our weekly luncheon meetings give us an opportunity for fellowship, event planning when necessary, and we typically invite a local speaker inform us of what is happening in the world around us. Come join us!

Who We Are
THE SOUTHEAST VOLUSIA KIWANIS CLUB IS A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO, THROUGH VARIOUS SERVICE PROJECTS, MEET THE KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL MISSION TO SERVE CHILDREN
It is our belief that volunteer service helps improve the lives of children and the community in which we live.
The SouthEast Volusia Kiwanis Club was chartered in 1926. Our SouthEast Volusia community includes New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater and Oak Hill, but members from anywhere are welcome to join. Our members represent a cross section of the community. We also welcome Kiwanians from out of the area to join us in fellowship if you happen to be visiting our little beach paradise.
Our club raises tens of thousands of dollars each year through special events, like our Strike It Rich event, and we give away the money to kids projects and teachers projects in our community.
Our club meets every Wednesday at Noon. All are always welcome, and we are always looking for new members. Your first lunch visit with us is “on us”. Please see our “Contact” page for more information.
The SouthEast Volusia Kiwanis Club is a group of men and women who are passionate about giving back to the community. Come join us in our Mission.
Our club meets at the Hidden Lakes Golf Club in New Smyrna Beach (almost) every Wednesday at Noon. Why not come visit us one day and see what our service club is all about?
You don’t need to call in advance, but you are welcome to do so. We do not meet on those very rare Wednesdays that fall close to some holidays (such as Thanksgiving). Please arrive a few minutes before Noon so we can greet you, meet you and seat you. We start off each meeting with a song “My Country Tis Of Thee” (don’t worry if you can’t sing or remember the words, but you probablly will), then we proudly recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and a non-denominational prayer followed by fellowship and a nice meal. Typically we invite a speaker to inform us of what’s happening around us, especially regarding children, but we also have local folks talking about a new restaurant, business, etc. We are non-political and non-denominational, but we are patriotic!
